Come and learn the art of belly dance with Joyce of Tribal Wallah.

Time: Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30pm.
Price: $30.00 per month / $90 for entire session

Class Description:
This class is for all new students, regardless of dance level or prior experience in any style of dance.

This class will teach the fundamental steps in the ATS vocabulary: chu chu, Arabic, pivot pumps, Egyptian basic and shimmy (fast moves) as well as taxeem, maya, chest circles, camel step, snake arms and body wave (slow moves). We will focus on tribal steps technique and posture in this class. No previous dance experience required.

As of July 2007, basic zills patterns will be taught in Level 1. Zills can be purchased in class, from local vendors or online; Joyce frequently has a few for sale in class as well. Please check with the instructor before purchasing zills, but of note, Saroyan is the best online resource : www.saroyanzils.com

What to Wear: Comfortable flexible Shoes without tread (hermes sandals, jazz shoes, or socks) or barefeet. Pantaloons, big skirts, or yoga/stretch pants. Choli, tank tops or snug tops can be beneficial for seeing movement. Fringed (not coined) hip scarves are also a favorite addition for accentuation of hip movements. These are just suggestions, please wear whatever makes you comfortable and offers good range of motion (but no jeans).

We frequently have a small selection of hip scarves for sale in class; please check the sale rack before or after class time.
