Re: First Field Trip in Alaska!
Mon, April 20, 2009 - 5:35 PMWhat fun we had this weekend!!!
I enjoyed sharing my take on ATS with everyone at the workshop, co-teaching with Amy was WAY fun, I do LOVE MY BELLY, and really had a fabulous time dancing at the Hafla. Not only did Tribal Wallah do our one ATS dance that we planned to do, but we pulled out two more improv only dances! And one of them incorporated two lovely ladies from the Anchorage area whom I have never meet before, much less danced with. Thank you so much to the gorgeous and hotness that is Melissa and Joanna who graced us with their beauty, presence and poise! And to do it all with zills, that totally ROCKED (or should I say it was RAKS?)!!!
Ah, the beauty of ATS and having a common vocabulary which lets us dance as a group – I LOVE ATS!!
Lalalalalalalala!!! <- zaghareeting
Thank you to Amy Tucker of Gaia Tribal for inviting me to participate as a teacher, and many thanks to my two students Mary and Liz for performing with me. I am really delighted and honored to have found ladies like Liz and Mary to dance with (and all the lovelies ladies in Cold Fusion that comprise one whole level of classes!). In just a few months of classes, they have really worked hard to learn the moves and skills that are needed for improve, and I am constantly floored at how well we dance together given our very short history. And they totally kick butt on the Bhangra Throwdown, don’t they? I heart those ladies!!!
Finally got home around 10pm last night and even with the van breaking down (see blog for details, sigh), but I still have to say this was a GREAT WEEKEND!
Shimmies,
